Original E. Villanis Bronze Sculpture OF a Maiden Held Hostage Titled L'otage

This is a stunning original and rare bronze by famous artist Emmanuel Villanis French, 1858-1914. The Bronze depicts a beautiful Maiden held hostage which is the title L'Otage. The figure is standing shackled to a tree trunk, the hem of her dress tumbling over the naturalistic rocky base. It is artist signed E. Villanis, titled at base L'otage and has a foundry mark from Paris on the back. The tree trunk has some presentation inscription on the back. The bronze is in good condition it measures 15 3/4" high by 6" wide.
