Antique Gorham Sterling Mother of Pearl Baby Whistle and Teether. This is a very rare Victorian era Sterling Silver whistle with a mother of pearl handle/teether that the baby would suck on. The silver portion has a whistle shape and is marked with the old Gorham mark Sterling and numbered 10. This is an old piece circa 1890. It is inscribed May at the top and it has a ring on the underside where it could be attached to a necklace. The whistle is in good condition. The mother of pearl has some minor losses on the end. The whistle measures 4 1/4 inches long by 1 inch wide. It weighs 37.2 grams.
