Glen Mitchell Listed American Artist 1894-1972 Snake in Head Gouache Painting. This painting has a medusa like figure on the front with an eye and snake like hair. It is signed on the lower left Mitchell and titled on the verso Snake In Head Gouache Glen Mitchell. Glen Mitchell (American artist, 1894-1972) was a painter, educator, illustrator, designer, muralist and occasional printmaker born in Indiana. He taught at the Minneapolis school of Art in 1930s, exhibiting his artwork at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts Minnesota State Fair. He was also a contributor to American Artist Magazine. Mitchell's exhibition catalogues were donated to the Smithsonian Institution's Archives of American Art 1992.
