Antique 800 Silver Hand Hammered Wood Lined Cigarette/ Cigar Box. The cigar box has a beautiful hand hammered design and a monogram M on the top of the box. The sides of the box have a 3 layered design. The interior of the box is wood lined and the box opens and closes securely. The bottom of the box is marked 800 for 800 silver. The side of the box is also marked 800 with maker's mark HB for Hermann Bauer inside of a shield. Hermann Bauer was a German silversmith founded in 1863. The box is in excellent condition measuring 5-1/2 inches long by 3-1/2 inches wide by 1-1/2 inches high. Weight 9.1 troy ounces including the wood.
