Rare and beautiful antique George V Sterling Silver Cased Fruit Service for 12 makers Crichton Brothers London 1916. The set consists of 12 fruit forks measuring 6-5/8 inches long and 12 fruit knives measuring 8 inches long. Both the blades and handles are sterling silver with date letters and maker's marks. The underside of the handles have 3 letter monogram AKM. The handles are inlayed with Mother of Pearl This is a very rare and extraordinary set in superb condition in the original fitted case. The sides of the knife blades and the back of the forks are marked Crichton Brothers London Made in England. The other side of the blades have maker's marks, date letter makers, a walking lion, and a panther head indicating these are sterling silver made in London in 1916. Weight 1080 grams, 34.72 ounces. The set is in its original regal purple velvet lined case. The fitted case is also marked Crichton Bros and measures 12-5/8 wide by 9-1/2 inches long by 2-1/2 inches high. All of the pieces in the set are in excellent condition, the outside of the case is worn but the interior is in excellent condition. This is a unique fruit set guaranteed to please the most particular English silver collector.
