1910 London Sterling Silver Vermeil Apostle Style Spoon

Rare hand engraved English sterling silver vermeil sculptured and extraordinarily detailed apostle style spoon. The spoon bowl has beautiful swirled hand engraved designs. The handle is hand engraved and beautifully detailed on all sides. It has English silver hallmarks indicating this was made in London in 1910. Above the spoon bowl is a mythological animal face with large eyes. Towards the end of the handle there is another mythological animal with it mouth open holding the last half of the handle. This is a unique museum quality serving spoon almost too beautiful to use. It will make a wonderful addition to any advanced English silver collection. It measures 10-1/8 inches long, widest width of the spoon bowl is 1-15/16 inches. Weight 102.2 grams, 3.28 troy ounces.
