Beautiful Cherub Continental Silver 6sided Tea Strainer

Beautiful antique 800 continental silver 6 sided tea strainer decorated with 18 high relief sculptured cherubs. Each one of the cherub is doing something different. One tries to catch a bird while another one watches, one is playing symbols, one is playing the flute, some are dancing, some are playing. This is a unique tea strainer one of the most interesting and beautiful I have had the pleasure to purchase and offer for sale. The thumb press handle is marked with a crown a crescent moon, and 800 along with a maker's mark. The markings indicate this was made in Germany more than 100 years ago. This is a beautiful tea strainer in excellent condition. From the bottom to the handle tip it measures 5-3/8 inches. From side to side across the top it measures 4 inches. When you lay it down flat and measure to the bottom of the tea strainer it measures more than 3/4 inch high. This is a rare wonderful beautifully designed antique Continental cherub silver tea strainer with ram's heads decorating the center of each sides and garlands connected to each ram head. This will make a rare and wonderful addition to the most advanced tea strainer collection. Weight almost 2 troy ounces.
